Things are getting better. It took awhile, but Melvin is starting to open up again. He still has a few things, but it is not as bad as it was. He still will not play with the doll house. Antonia has asked him to play with her but he won’t.
Anthony has been spending a bit more time than usual here at the house since Cameron died. I’m not sure if him and his wife are arguing or if he just wants to spend time with his children. Maybe it is a bit of both. I don’t know. I just know that it has been nice to have him around to help with the kids a bit. Maybe he is the reason Melvin is finally cheering up again.
Melvin has been asking for a dog lately. I keep telling him that we can’t afford one. I am actually planning to get him one for Christmas. I just haven’t found the right one yet. I can’t wait to see the look on his face when he wakes up Christmas morning and sees the puppy. I have been checking online to see if I find any puppies that I think Melvin would like. There are so many that it is hard to narrow it down to just one.
I did get a surprise call from my Uncle Stellan today. He asked me to stop by for a visit. I took Antonia with me. It would give her a chance to play with her cousins. Uncle Stellan invited us for Thanksgiving dinner. He said that the family has been split long enough and that we all should be together for the holidays. Too bad he didn’t have that revelation while my father was still alive. I haven’t decided yet what we’ll do.
It was nice to finally meet Dalton’s wife. She is really pretty and really sweet. I can understand why Dalton fell in love with her. Their daughter is adorable also. Antonia seemed to enjoy playing with her.
I had a big surprise when I got home from Uncle Stellan’s house. It seems that Melvin wasn’t going to take no for an answer about getting a pet. It’s not a dog, but he has made a pet out of it. He has named her Nibbles.
Even though she is cute, and Melvin is taking really good care of her himself, I hate her. She won’t stay off the counters.
She has torn up one of my dining room chairs.
The last straw was when she tore up Antonia’s blanket.
Melvin needs to control her and stop her from tearing things up, or he will need to find her a new home.
What a strange dog. 😛

As long as Myla thinks it is a dog, she may allow Melvin to keep her. Lol
